Pyeongtaek University is a private research university located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It is one of the country’s older higher-education institutions, with roots dating back to 1912 when it began as Pierson Memorial Bible Academy, founded according to the evangelical mission of Dr. Arthur T. Pierson. Over more than a century, the institution evolved through various stages — from a Bible institute to a four-year college and, ultimately, to a full university, adopting the name Pyeongtaek University in 1996. Today it combines its historical Christian educational philosophy with modern academic programs aimed at developing practical, creative, and ethical leaders.
