Woosong University was founded in 1954 and is located in Daejeon, South Korea. The university has three international schools: SolBridge International School of Business, Sol International School and Endicott College of International Studies. All classes in the International schools are taught in English. Woosong University has signed more than 400 agreements with partner universities and institutions all over the world. Therefore Woosong University is for example offering joint research, dual degree, Student Exchange, and Study Abroad programs.
Woosong University is located in Daejeon, 55 minutes away from Seoul by high-speed train. Daejeon is Korea’s fifth largest city and is renowned for being Korea’s Silicon Valley with about 30 research and development institutions. With a population of 1.5 million, Daejeon has the highest concentration of researchers with more than 7,000 PhD holders living and working in the city.

Accommodation

Woosong University offers two main residence facilities for international students. The International Dormitory is located on West Campus, and Sol-Geo is located on East Campus. Both dormitories are located close to nearby shops, restaurants, the subway, and various bus routes. International students from SolBridge International School of Business, Endicott College of International Studies, JW Kim College of Future Studies, and other Schools of Woosong share the two accommodations, thus providing further opportunities to meet students from other cultures and locations.

International Dormitory

The International Dormitory is located on West Campus and is for international undergraduate students. This dormitory is separated into men’s and women’s sections to accommodate all Woosong students. Being located on West Campus, students that reside here have close proximity to the majority of their classes, which are usually held on West Campus. In addition to the rooms, the international dormitory has WI-FI accessibility, a cafeteria, and a gym in the building. It is also located next to Woosong Field, which has a soccer field and several basketball courts. Each room accommodates two students with individual beds, desks, and clothing cabinets. The International Dormitory contains the Office of Student Housing, a cafeteria, laundry facilities, and several common areas. Bathrooms and showers are communal.

Placement

Woosong University reports an 85% employment rate for international students within six months of graduation. Backed by the Woosong University Career Development Support Center, placements are driven by mandatory industry internships and over 300 global corporate partnerships.

Notes

The nearest major international airport to Woosong University in Daejeon, South Korea, is Incheon International Airport (ICN). You can reach the university from the airport via an express bus or a high-speed train, with the journey taking roughly 2.5 to 3 hours.

Option 1: Direct Express Bus (Recommended)

This is the most convenient method as it requires zero transfers with your luggage.

Route: Take a direct intercity bus from Incheon International Airport to the Daejeon Terminal Complex.
Travel Time: ~2.5 to 3 hours.
Cost: Around 27,700 KRW.
How to book: Purchase tickets at the airport ticket office (1st floor for Terminal 1, B1 for Terminal 2) and check your platform number.
Final leg: From the Daejeon Terminal Complex, Woosong University is a short 10-15 minute taxi ride or local bus trip.

Option 2: High-Speed Train

If you prefer a faster rail option, you can take a high-speed train, though it requires a couple of transfers.

Route: Take the AREX Airport Railroad from ICN to Seoul Station. From Seoul Station, transfer to the KTX (Korea Train Express) high-speed train headed to Daejeon Station.
Travel Time: ~2.5 hours total (excluding wait times).
Cost: 14,000 KRW to 49,000 KRW depending on the train and class.
Final leg: From Daejeon Station, take a taxi (~10 minutes) or a local subway to Woosong University.

Alternative Airport: Cheongju International Airport (CJJ)

While smaller, Cheongju Airport is much closer to Daejeon. If your international flight connects through an Asian hub to Cheongju, you can take a direct train or bus from there to Daejeon in about 1 to 1.5 hours.
