The University of Applied Sciences for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (FHM) is a subsidiary of the Education & Crafts Foundation and a private, state-recognised university of applied sciences with nine campuses across Germany, as well as the online FHM Online University. It has been accredited by the Science Council of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Science Council’s seal of approval confirms the FHM’s excellent quality. Particular emphasis is placed here on the FHM’s SME-focused concept, the quality of its teaching and applied research, its plausible and sustainable mission statement, and its sound management. The FHM was founded in 2000 by SMEs for SMEs. It is the only university in Germany that consistently champions SMEs and incorporates this into its name as a defining feature of its identity.

1. From Hannover Airport (HAJ) - ~110 km

Train (Recommended): Take the S-Bahn line S5 from the airport ("Hannover Flughafen") to Hannover Hauptbahnhof (main station). The journey takes approx. 17 minutes. From Hannover Hauptbahnhof, take a direct Intercity (IC) or ICE train to Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof. The train journey takes about 50–60 minutes.
Driving: Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes via the A2 highway.

2. From Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) - ~190 km

Train: Take the SkyTrain from the terminal to the "Düsseldorf Flughafen" station (not the main station). From there, take an Intercity (IC), ICE, or regional train (RE) directly to Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof. The total journey takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours.
Driving: Approx. 2 hours via the A44/A2 or A1 highways.
