Accommodation

For students with specific disabilities, housing accommodations may be necessary in order to provide full and integrated access to on-campus living. Examples of housing accommodations include but are not limited to:

• ADA compliant rooms
• Single occupancy rooms
• Shared/private baths
• Room modifications

Housing accommodations must be reasonable and relate to the students' disability and address their functional limitations. CDAR and Housing and Residence Life work closely together to ensure a positive living environment for students with disabilities who live in the residence halls.

ADA Housing Accommodations:

Please note, if you need ADA accommodations, first you need to complete an application for Housing, next you need complete an application for Center for Disability Access and Resources and make sure to provide all necessary documentation.  Failure to do so may result in a significant delay and/or the inability to be able to meet your requested housing accommodation.

Based on review of your request and supporting medical documentation, CDAR may be able to approve your housing accommodations but housing's ability to provide you the qualifying housing accommodation is based on availability of space.

Waitlist

If you are making a request for housing accommodations past May 1, your name will be put on a waitlist which will prioritize your placement if and when a room becomes available. However, there is no guarantee that this will happen prior to the start of the semester.

Placement

Prerequisites for registration in lower-division Chemistry, English, Math, and Modern Language classes are based upon the following minimum exam scores as well as prior classes completed. Students should submit ACT, SAT, and College Board AP exam scores to the Admissions Office for inclusion with their application. English and Modern Languages offer placement exams for their subject. Students should discuss placement with their academic advisors to ensure they are meeting their degree requirements and registering for the appropriate classes.

Notes

Student athletes can try out for Idaho's silver-and-gold sports teams, which are called the Vandals, thanks to an old newspaper account of the 1917 basketball team vandalizing its opponents on the court. The Vandals mainly compete in the NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference. Notable Idaho alumni include Mark Felt, better known as Deep Throat, who was the source to reporters during the Watergate political scandal in the 1970s.
