Shannon College of Hotel Management was founded in 1951 as Ireland's first designated college of hotel management. Since 2015 it is fully incorporated into the University of Galway. The college was founded by Brendan O'Regan and is based in Shannon Airport, County Clare. It was set up with input from Aer Rianta.

The BBS and BComm feature comprehensive placements at operative and trainee management levels. The emphasis on practical training (in Year 1) combined with comprehensive placements is essential for the development of the students’ skills in leadership, teamwork, personal organisation and attention to detail; all of which are vital for their role as future hotel managers.
Shannon College of Hotel Management was founded in 1951 by Dr Brendan O'Regan (Irish Businessman) and is the country’s only dedicated hotel management college. Shannon College is based in Shannon International Airport, County Clare and offers two Level 8 Business degrees, five postgraduate programmes, and a range of executive education and short programmes.
