Istituto Europeo di Design is an international Group with a proudly local outlook and it is located in 3 countries: in Italy in Milan , Cagliari, Florence , Rome , Turin and Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli in Como ; Barcelona , Madrid and Bilbao in Spain and Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo in Brazil.

IED is the largest Higher Education Network in the creative field to have maintained a global outlook and a deeply Italian cultural matrix, since 1966.

Every year IED launches innovative training projects in the fields of Design , Fashion , Visual Arts , Art and Restoration and Communication , developing new forms of learning and designing new models for interpreting the future.

IED student training experience is based on the educational concept according to which knowledge and know-how must grow together. A simple and effective idea that distinguishes the entire educational path: training students by combining theory and practice, beginning with the knowledge brought to the classroom by industry professionals and by the research requirements of partner companies.

IED gives its students the chance to immerse themselves in the cultural and multi-faceted context of its sites and to acquire the interdisciplinary skills needed to make their way in the chosen future career path.

In fact, every IED site has its own clear identity, shaped by the location where it operates, which characterises its style, experience and its relations with the local community.

At the end of the course, IED facilitates the insertion of new graduates into the professional world through support in the activation of work placements or collaborations, as well as the monitoring of selection interviews at Human Resources offices or at professional firms within the sector.

Additionally, IED boasts over 170 academic partnerships in Europe, Asia, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South America and it is affiliated with CUMULUS (International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media), ELIA (The European League of the Institute of Arts), ENCATC (European Network on Cultural Management and Policy) and WDO (World Design Organization).
