Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) was founded by Shiro Arimoto in 1927 as Tokyo High School of Engineering and Commerce with the aim of “nurturing engineers who learn from society and contribute to society.” Since then, it has been committed to nurturing engineers who can search for truths through practical learning; encouraging students to have a strong sense of ethics and comprehensive knowledge; and engendering in them a spirit of independence, and thus contributing to social development.
This is a brief outline of SIT’s nearly 100-year history, as well as an introduction to books that describe that history in more detail.

There are several options for the housing: student dormitories, apartments, shared houses, and homestay. SIT supports entering the dormitories but even if you cannot get into a dorm due to capacity issues, SIT will introduce a private agent for looking for housing such as shared houses, apartments and homestay. Students will have a great deal of support and will have no trouble finding housing.

Haneda Airport (HND) is the closest airport to the Shibaura Institute of Technology Shibaura Campus in Tokyo. From Haneda, it takes less than 30 minutes to reach central Tokyo. From Narita (NRT), take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station, then the Yamanote or Keihin-Tohoku Line to Tamachi Station.

From Haneda Airport (HND): Approximately 30 minutes via train or limousine bus.
From Narita Airport (NRT):
- Fastest: Narita Express to Tokyo Station ($\sim$60 mins), then Yamanote/Keihin-Tohoku Line to Tamachi Station ($\sim$10 mins).
