Renowned as China's cradle for the national electronic industry, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (formerly Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering) is situated at Chengdu, the city of over a thousand-year-old cultural history in "the land of abundance". In 1956, instructed by Premier Zhou Enlai, UESTC was founded on the basis of the incorporation of electronic divisions of the then three universities including Jiaotong Universities, Nanjing Institute of Technology and South China Institute of Technology. UESTC became one of the nation's key universities in 1960. Then, in 1997 it was included as one of the first universities into "Project 211", a project in China for developing 100 first-class universities and a number of key fields of research for the 21st century. In 2001, UESTC was admitted into the nation's Project 985, receiving special support for developing world-class universities and world-famous research-oriented universities. In 2017, the University was selected as one of "Double First-class" universities (Top 36).

Accommodation

1. Book online in advance: Each school may has a different booking method, so the accommodation intention should be submitted and replied to CUCAS promptly by applicants. For some school, you may be required to provide login information for the registred personal account after admission, so that the CUCAS can help book. For other school, a deposit or accommodation fee is required at the time of booking, so applicants can book by self; If need help from the CUCAS, the 20% service fee for transferring fee is need be to charged.
2. Arranged by school: Rooms on campus are guaranteed. No need or unavailable to book in advance.
3. First come, first served: Unavailable to book in advance. (1)The room is guaranteed, but the first come may choose the type first. (2) The room is limited.
4. NO on-campus accommodation: Students are required to rent off campus

University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) has 1 campus: Shahe Campus . The accommodation fee range is from 3000.00 Per Person Per Year to 6000.00 Per Person Per Year.

Placement

Tenured Full or Associate Professors in the top 100 universities or disciplines (QS/US News /TIMES/ARWU), who is considering a full-time job in CHINA (including individuals who are newly retired and wishing to extend their working careers).

- A Tenured professor in UESTC will be provided with sufficient research funding according to research proposal.
Provision of a well-equipped platform such as working and experimental space and facilities.

Post-doctoral positions and postgraduate students are partially supported financially by the Government and the University.

A dedicated personal assistant will be available for daily administration.

China is developing at an amazing speed and opening up more and more to the outside world. There are more opportunities than ever for international talents to apply for funded research projects at National and Provincial levels.

Notes

Chengdu was the center of Shu Han Cultures; of all the past dynasties, it was the political, economic and cultural center in the Southwest China as well as an important city on the Yangtze River Valley. The long history left Chengdu a unique cultural environment, including leisure cultures, historical cultures, food cultures, drink cultures, tea cultures, folkways, and so on.
